Clarinetist Kevin Streich balances an active performing and teaching career. He teaches clarinet and chamber music at UNC-Pembroke and teaches several students in his home studio in Raleigh. He also served on the Instrumental Music faculty for ten years at the NC Governor’s School East campus.
He plays regularly with the North Carolina Symphony and the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle. He has also performed with the Cape Fear New Music Festival, Mallarme Chamber Players, Union Symphony Orchestra, Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra, Raleigh Civic Chamber Orchestra, and the Greater Lansing Symphony Orchestra.
He has studied with Dr. Elsa Verdehr, Dr. Linda Bartley, Dr. Margaret Donaghue and Curt Blood, and has earned a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Michigan State University, a Master of Music from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Connecticut.
Kevin lives in Raleigh, NC with Maggie, his thoroughly spoiled tortoise-shell cat. When he is not playing or teaching the clarinet, he enjoys experimenting with culinary delights in the kitchen.
